Sunset by the Sea

In seasons of dormancy, rest, and darkness, the long branches of our trees do not curl up in a ball or withdraw. Whether bent, balanced, or upright, the branches  maintain the posture established during seasons of growth. They stretch outward to welcome the morning’s eastern sun, they rise upward toward noonday’s zenith and always reach out toward the western setting sun.

May the Lord establish our posture toward His light— so that  our reach toward him will be settled as our seasons change.  When difficulties arise, may we be like Isaiah who wrote of himself as he foretold Jesus final days in the words,

For the Lord GOD helps Me, Therefore, I am not disgraced; Therefore, I have set My face like flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed. Isaiah 50:7 NASB
