A tree outside our back door stood bare and dormant through all of spring’s lively budding, blossoming and leafing out. At first our hearts sunk; we thought it hadn’t survived the winter; we talked of cutting it down.

It took a year or two to realize it was a late bloomer. After the leaves come the flowers—lovely and fragrant like no other. We now wait for its time.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3: 11 NIV
