Energies

Seeds wait;
helplessly inept
they cannot set
themselves in soil
to thrive,
or die.

Seeds, packed with
living energies,
from bare branched trees
seek soil, sun and rain
to root,
take time to raise boughs high,
to flower and bear fruit;
and only against winds
are swayed to dance
and wave with praise.

Seeds hide the life
that’s yet to be
inside the red washed
cups of earthen clay,
hide beneath the bright of day
until it’s time for eyes to see
the fruit of latent energies,
the fruit prayed through
for progeny
from long forgotten trees.
