Seas and seas of trees,
Up, down and all around,
All I see is trees.

While painting 100+ trees, I began adding trees to doodles. This uneven, unbalanced kaleidoscope is a result.

The lack of balance is so different from God’s plan for the Tabernacle that Moses once built. Every way you turn it, from every point of view, everything in the Tabernacle is in balance and everything points to Jesus. It’s unified, not unbalanced like this picture. How lovely it would be if we-all thought of the Lord so often and were so attuned to His order that every kaleidoscopic doodle and turn of our daily lives would reflect our life in Him and His life in us. Just think, when we are surrendered to God, everything— the unwanted telephone solicitors, the birds flying by the window, the hot sudsy soap for dishes, the songs in our heart and thoughts in our minds—as well as the impatient demands of others and the loss and tragedy that are inevitable in life are all working together for good as a part of His plan.  What lovely heavenly colors our daily spins and turns would begin to take on if we lived more fully in His presence and trusted in His eternal purposes.

And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:27-28

Ginny this one really spoke to me today. These verses in Romans are so very timely in these days of quarantine.

I know. At times believing the truth of His Word over my own thinking about what is going has to be an intentional choice and act of will. But my thinking about what is going on pulls me down and trusting Jesus and His Word builds me up.

Hello Ginny. I think you zeroed in on one of the greatest needs for our days, when everything is so scary and difficult. Some people think we’ve lost our freedom, but when we put it all in God’s hands, it puts a whole new kind of world out there—to trust and feel and find a real freedom in God and the truth that “all things work together for good to those who love God.”

I know what you’re saying, Lili. It’s tempting to imagine the worst rather than trust for the best— especially
if possibly God’s idea of best isn’t our idea of “best” — and when we don’t know which end is up. But bottom line, like you write, in Him we are free no matter the confinement.
