Prayers for God’s Children — Day 3

Here are still more gleanings from the prayers for my children. May they align with our Heavenly Father’s heart for us. Today the pronoun changed from they to we.

Father, may we, Your children, know Your love in and through one another. May we discover and treasure the uniqueness of others. Give us eyes to see and discernment to reject all that rings false. Give us Your capacities to encourage and affirm, to be midwife, mother and father; to birth, nurture and establish the true.

May seeing and honoring the differences between us reveal the vastness of Your being. Help us see how each one of us is born to reveal a unique facet of Your rich personality, Your creative power and Your unending love.

May we stop ungodly comparisons, accept ourselves, and find our identities as we grow into the likeness of Your nature. May we reflect the glory of beings born anew in the image of God as revealed in Jesus Christ. May we humbly and totally accept Your Holy Spirit’s creative work within us.

Father, would You surround us with men and women who will call forth Your life in us. And then, Father, would You use us to call forth and encourage Your life in others. Heal us, help us get pull the specks out of our eyes and wash the dirt from our hearts; and then, Father, use us to help others work through and cut away their muck and messy confusions. Help us to find your patterns. Like a sculptor uncovers the figure hidden trapped with a stone, may we find in ourselves and call forth from others our own true figures of life, souls conformed to and aligned with Your love.

May Your image, the image of the invisible Father-God as incarnated in Jesus Christ, become clearer, stronger, truer, richer, deeper, fuller, wider, and higher as we love and receive love in return.
