Gleanings — 3
I’m still gleaning from my old journals —today’s nuggets and crumbs are from 1980 and ’81.
I’ve been absorbing them slowly—one at a time.
On Faith
Jesus believes everything He ever said. Do I believe all I say?
If anyone considers himself religious, but doesn’t control his own tongue, he deceives his own heart and his religion is worthless. James 1:26
Don’t doubt in darkness what you trusted and saw in the light.
Without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6
Don’t hesitate to pray for the impossible. Ask, “Lord, change the situation, change the person, change me. Bring this situation into accord with You, Your order, and Your plan.”
What is impossible with man is possible with God. Luke 18:27
Only God can change a man’s heart from within. Quit trying to change others; get out of God’s way. Entrust your loved ones to His care.
I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 11:19
After entrusting a person or situation into God’s hands, wait.
Waiting on God is an action.
Keeping your hands off is an action.
Seeking God’s directions and only following Him is active.
Trusting God to lead your prayers and involvement is action.
Preparing to receive God’s answer takes active faith.
Faith in God
is not passivity, disorder or confusion.
does not think que cera, cera, whatever will be will be.
is not fatalistic.
does not believe that what ever is supposed to happen will happen.
seeks for God’s plan, His order, His solution and actively believes for His will.
God can transform a person or a nation through our prayers and obedience. Do not let darkness and chaos dissuade you from partnering with God for His purposes.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
